Monday, August 9, 2010, 7:00 p.m., College of Music, Mahidol University, A407 (Bangkok, Thailand): James will conduct the Premiere concert of Contemporary Enclave, an ensemble dedicated to the performance of music of recent decades. Included on the program, James' Three Pictures of Europe will receive its Thailand premiere, along with works by Kerrith Livengood, Leo Brouwer, Arvo Pärt, Thomas Hyuk Cha, Philip Brink, and Ivan Jimenez.

Wednesday, February 10, 2010, 7:00 p.m., Rangsit University (Bangkok, Thailand): James' (Genetically Re-Mastered Pigs in an Antipathetic Blanket) was featured as part of the Sticky Rice Society's annual concert of electronic music.
Friday, January 22, 2009, 7:00 p.m., College of Music, Mahidol University (Bangkok, Thailand): James organized (with colleague Pedro Rivadeneira) and conducted the Mahidol University Contemporary Music Ensemble in performances by himself (Centric), Mark Fromm, Federico Garcia, and others.
Friday September 15, 2009, 8:00 p.m., Bellefield Hall (Pittsburgh, PA): ALIA MUSICA Pittsburgh hosted the fall concert, featuring Amy Galbraith and Matt Gillespie performing Complements and Collisions for oboe and piano.
Friday August 7, 2009, 8:00 p.m., Kelly Strayhorn Theater (Pittsburgh, PA): ALIA MUSICA Pittsburgh and the Kelly Strayhorn Theater presented new works by the membership of ALIA as part of a recording project and community outreach event. James was principle conductor on the concert and Amy Galbraith and Matt Gillespie premiered Complements and Collisions for oboe and piano.
Friday April 17, 2009, 7:30 p.m., Annenberg Center for the Arts (Philadelphia, PA): ACO/ Penn Presents New Music Readings and Lab. The Orchestra Underground, under the baton of Cliff Colnot performed James' dissertation work, Proximate Spaces(1a.&1b., 2a.&2b).
Wednesday April 15, 2009, 1:00 p.m., Music Department at the University of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, PA): James defended his dissertation, which consisted of two components: Proximate Spaces(1a.&1b., 2a.&2b), a dialogue for piano and chamber orchestra and "Conflicting Lines, Cohesive Structures: Multiple-Directed Linearity in Witold Lutoslawski's Third Symphony." Ten days and a few revisions later, James officially become a doctor of philosophy in music, composition and theory.
Saturday April 4, 2009, Music Theory Society of the Mid-Atlantic Annual Conference, George Mason University (Fairfax, VA): James presented a portion of his dissertation research;Conflicting Lines, Cohesive Structures: Multiple-Directed Linearity in Witold Lutoslawski's Third Symphony.
Sunday August 31, 2008, 7:30 p.m., Chatham University (Pittsburgh, PA): Alia Musica, featuring Lisa Joseph and Ana Diaz, performed the world premiere of James' Trust, for violin and cello.
Tuesday April 1,2008, 8:00 p.m., Synod Hall (Pittsburgh, PA): Alia Musica, featuring Matthew Gillespie, piano, under the direction of James Ogburn performed the world premiere of James' dissertation composition, Proximate Spaces(1a.&1b., 2a.&2b), a dialogue for piano and chamber orchestra.
Saturday, October 18, 2007, 7:30 p.m., Eddy Theater at Chatham College (Pittsburgh, PA): Alia Musica under the direction of Federico Garcia presented new music by Pittsburgh composers, including the second performance of James' Centric, for mixed chamber ensemble).
June 4-10, 2007, June in Buffalo (Buffalo, NY): James' percussion duo, Lamarck was a Mutant, received a performance and workshop at the historic and internationally recognized conference.
Saturday, April 28, 2007, 8 p.m., Space Gallery (Pittsburgh, PA): Members of Alia Musica participated in the Pittsburgh premiere of Bookmusic (James played Mandolin and Accordion). The concert also featured new and old works by Alia Musica Members, including a version of James' Quod Tantos Iuvat .
Monday, April 23, 2007, 8 p.m., Bellefield Hall (Pittsburgh, PA): The IonSound Project performed new works by graduate students of the University of Pittsburgh, including the premiere of James' Five Miniatures on Musical Time (I, II , III , IV , V). In addition to his own piece, James conducted world premieres of works by Ben Harris and Erica Kudisch.
Saturday, April 14, 2007, (time TBA), Heinz Hall (Pittsburgh, PA): The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra presented a reading session of local student composers, featuring James' Master's thesis, Fear of Entropy.
Wednesday, April 11, 2007, 8 p.m., Bellefield Hall (Pittsburgh, PA): The University of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra performed Stravinsky's Petroushka, as well as the premiere of James' Master's thesis, Fear of Entropy.
Monday, March 19, 2007, 8 p.m., Bellefield Hall (Pittsburgh, PA): Roger Zahab performed the premiere of James' Polish Pronunciations of Arabesque Mutations.
